The always eclectic Twilight Concerts will be back in downtown Salt Lake City this summer

Salt Lake City’s Twilight Concert Series has a new promoter, an old venue and half a dozen dates this summer.

The Salt Lake City Arts Council has partnered with promoters S&S Presents for the 2019 edition of what has become an affordable, summertime institution. Tickets remain $10 — $15 the day of the show, and a season ticket for all six concerts is $50.

“It’s a priority for us to retain the accessibility component of the series,” said Arts Council division director Felicia Baca. “As a public event that means so much to our community, we want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to experience this event.”

The series opens on July 20 with headliner Hippie Sabotage, an EDM duo (brothers Kevin and Jeff Saurer) from Sacramento, Calif., and includes Blind Pilot, an indie folk band from Portland, Ore.; Young the Giant, a rock band from Irvine, Calif.; rapper Vince Staples; and Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett.

Reggae fusion/alternative hip hop singer-songwriter Santigold closes out the 2019 season on Aug. 13.

Several of the opening acts have local roots. All five members of The Hollering Pines — a country/rock/blues/folk band — are from the Salt Lake City and Provo areas. The all-female indie pop group The Aces is from Provo. Three of the four members of Sego are native Utahns, although they’re now based in Los Angeles. And rapper Concise Kilgore, a California native, is now based in Salt Lake City.

“The inclusion of local bands demonstrates the value of supporting our local arts community as working professionals,” said Salt Lake Mayor Jackie Biskupski.

Four of the six concerts are scheduled on the traditional Twilight Thursday evenings; the first is on a Saturday and the last is on a Friday.

Aug. 30 (Friday) • Santigold (opening acts TBA)
