Letter: Don’t let this election tear families apart
2020: The year of deadly disease, record hurricanes, unnerving earthquakes, caustic politics, raging wildfires, killer floods. We thought we had seen the worst nature and man could inflict on us.
We were wrong. A new tragedy is creeping into our nation, an entirely preventable one: Family members are disowning each other for marking the “wrong” names on their ballots. In my many years of voting, I have not known this to be so prevalent.
Please, my sister and brother Americans, don’t let this happen. Regardless of what the final vote tally is, we all lose if families tear themselves apart over voting.
